Standing on the edge of the Alaskan backcountry, I remember how the world seemed to pause. The evening light was sinking behind the mountains, washing the peaks in soft hues of rose, gold, and violet. The air was sharp and still, the kind of quiet that makes every detail feel more alive. Then, slicing through that silence, a bald eagle rose from the water’s edge and banked into the glow—its wings catching the last light of the day.
This painting is my tribute to that moment in America’s last frontier. The eagle glides across a rugged sweep of snow-dusted mountains, suspended between shadow and light. Subtle shifts of color in the sky echo the fading warmth of sunset, while cool tones in the rock and water ground the scene in the wild honesty of the North.
