Drinking Buddies II is a celebration of life-giving water. Water is precious in Africa, and a popular expression is "everybody is happy when it rains," including the wildlife. Witnessing the transformative power of rain for the animals and birds is my inspiration for the painting.
The abundance of animals, birds, and astonishing landscapes create one of the greatest natural wonders on earth. The Ngorongoro crater, an oasis in Africa's Serengeti, is one of my favorite places. The area is alive with vast, colorful herds of prancing zebras and vibrant pink flamingos refreshed by the rains and the luxury of abundant water. During a multi-day visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, the rains came in the night, transforming dusty grasslands into green, rich grazing lands. Numerous cerulean blue sparking shallow lakes formed overnight, attracting immense flocks of flamingos and zebras.

Transform your space with the power and beauty of Art

Through my art I strive to capture a "moment in time" allowing us to take a journey in our minds each time we view it. Traveling the world to observe wild animals in their natural habitat I hope to gain a deeper insight into the trials of "living on the edge” and to bring a sense of life to every canvas.
