Bushveld Glow
I painted this work in response to one of those unforgettable African evenings when the sky seemed to catch fire just before nightfall. The sunset spread across the bush in brilliant layers of gold, amber, and deepening rose, touching the landscape with a warmth that felt almost ceremonial. For a brief moment, the earth and sky seemed suspended between day and night, holding the last light in perfect balance.
As the sun lowered, the bush came alive in subtle ways — silhouettes shifting in the distance, birds calling softly, and the air itself seeming to glow with anticipation.
I wanted to capture not only the color of that moment, but the feeling of standing within it: the hush, the drama, and the quiet reverence that comes when nature offers something both grand and fleeting. This painting is a tribute to that extraordinary in-between hour, when the African landscape reveals its beauty in its most radiant form.
