I admire the speed and suppleness of the American Bison, the iconic symbol of strength and the American West.  Watching a powerful bull charge a group of ravens became my inspiration for "American Thunder".  

I have always enjoyed painting the textures of the bison and the colors of the sage.  The stirred-up cloud of dust adds a sense of movement and life, capturing a moment in time.
