As an artist, my journey through Alaska—America's last frontier—felt like stepping into a living canvas, filled with vibrant colors, dynamic forms, and extraordinary moments waiting to be immortalized. With each brushstroke, my experiences in this breathtaking landscape have profoundly inspired my work, and I’d like to share a glimpse of what influenced me during my time there.

One of the highlights of our Alaskan adventure was hiking in the wild, surrounded by the majestic brown bears. There's something awe-inspiring about witnessing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The bears would dig for clams and fish along the beach and graze among the lupine flowers. The thrill of watching them roam close by made for an unforgettable experience. Our photos capture the raw beauty of these bears, showcasing their strength and grace against the stunning backdrop of the Alaskan wilderness.

Puffins!
Another unforgettable moment was our encounter with puffins. These colorful birds, with their striking beaks and whimsical personalities, are a joy to observe. As we hiked along the coastal cliffs, we were fortunate enough to spot them nesting. Our photographs show the puffins in vibrant detail, perched on rocky ledges, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the ocean. Getting up close to these charming little birds was a delightful experience that truly highlighted Alaska's rich avian life.

Did you know a group of Puffins is called a circus?

A charming pair of nesting puffins inspired this painting. Puffins often mate for life. "Puffin Island"
Alaska is also known for its incredible wildlife, and the bald eagles are a prime example. During the herring run, we were treated to the spectacular sight of these magnificent birds swooping to their next meal of fish. The drama of the moment, combined with the ethereal lighting of the Alaskan sky, provided a rich backdrop for my artistic interpretations.

Finally, no trip to Alaska would be complete without marveling at the majestic mountains that define its skyline. From the towering peaks of Denali to the sprawling ranges of the Kenai Peninsula, the mountains are a constant reminder of the grandeur of nature. Our photographs capture the dramatic contrasts of snow-capped peaks against vibrant sunrises and sunsets, as well as the serene beauty of mountain lakes mirrored by the surrounding landscape. Standing in the shadow of these giants is a humbling experience that leaves a lasting impression.
